About Us

Our board members are our patients, too.

The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) is governed by a board of directors, 100% of whom are area residents—and most of whom receive their health care here, too. This unusually strong local representation means that the health center reports directly to the community we serve.

Board members are active in the community and offer valuable assistance with:

  • Providing consumer feedback as health center patients,
  • Developing collaborative partnerships within the community, and
  • Tracking local developments that may impact health center services.

The board is responsible for approving the strategic, business, and clinical priorities of the health center, and for monitoring performance on goals and objectives. Various resources help establish these priorities, including patient satisfaction surveys, health center staff, community needs studies, focus groups, and input from other community organizations.

As the population in our service area becomes more culturally diverse, EBNHC continues to seek out community representatives who complement the racial and ethnic composition of the patients we care for.
