When you can’t wait, we're here to help.

emergencyIf you need health care on the weekend or in the middle of the night, the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center Emergency Room (ER) is open. If you do not have a primary care doctor or are new to the health care system, our ER can help. If you do not have an appointment or medical insurance, our ER will welcome you. If you don’t know where to ask for help, our ER has the answers.

The EBNHC ER is a fully equipped medical center for emergency health needs. Members of our medical team are specialists in acute care, dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized treatment to every patient who walks through our doors.

With a Level Two Laboratory on site, we can retrieve test results while patients wait. With innovative tracking technology, we know where each of our patients is—and why they are here to see us—from the moment they walk into the waiting room until they leave the health center. Tracking enables us to avoid long waits for care, and ensures that each person has our full attention at all times.

The care we provide is coordinated with EBNHC primary care providers, as well as the physicians at Boston Medical Center, the New England Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital, if needed. We refer patients and their families to appropriate departments and agencies for social services, legal services, mental health, and other diverse needs.

We speak Spanish and, with certified interpreters on staff, can communicate in more than a dozen other languages to serve you as comfortably and comprehensively as possible. Whatever your need, we can help.

The ER is located on the first floor at 10 Gove Street, East Boston.
