Health care coverage for you and your family.

enrollmentThe Enrollment Services Department at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center helps patients and their families with no health insurance, or limited health insurance, obtain the most comprehensive coverage for which they qualify. Lacking insurance should never stand in the way of receiving the quality health care that you and your family need. We’re on your side, and we can help!

Today, many people are confused about the new health care reform laws. All adult residents of Massachusetts are required to have proof of health insurance as of December 31, 2007. If you’re unsure about what this means for you, we can help find the answers to your questions.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers many programs for uninsured individuals and families. These programs are available to people who are currently working as well as those who are unemployed. We guide patients through the application process for the following:

  • MassHealth
  • Children’s Medical Security Plan
  • Healthy Start (for pregnant women)
  • Health Safety Net (formerly Free Care)
  • Commonwealth Care
  • Medicare Part D Plans
  • Prescription Advantage Program

Enrolling in many of these programs, such as MassHealth and Commonwealth Care, consists of two steps. The first step is to become eligible for the program. The second step is to select a health plan. We can help you with both of these steps. We will let you know if there is any documentation required, such as proof of income.

Our goal is to make sure that all our patients have the health coverage they need! Call us or stop by to make an appointment. We look forward to assisting you in obtaining and maintaining health coverage for you and your family members.

To find out more, please call the Enrollment Services Department at 617-568-4636 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition to English, our staff speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and will call Interpreter Services for assistance if you speak another language. You can also stop by and visit us at 79 Paris Street, first floor (the building next to the East Boston Police Station), or 10 Gove Street, first floor, in the Emergency Department. We’re open most weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
