Medical testing gives your doctors and nurses the answers they need to treat you appropriately. At the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, our medical laboratory is right around the corner, providing accurate test results as quickly as possible so that you don’t need to wait long for answers or treatment.

With 20 staff members performing and evaluating tests from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, our laboratory processes 200 common tests, including blood counts, chemistry profiles, urine cultures, thyroid, and hemoglobin tests. Another 300 tests are performed in collaboration with specialized referral laboratories.

Satellite laboratories in the Emergency, Pediatrics, CDEM, and other clinical departments allow immediate results for certain tests. Tests that take longer to perform are completed within 24 hours. Most often, results are returned within one to two hours.

When you need blood drawn for tests, our 15 skilled phlebotomists make the process easy. Bilingual in Spanish, many of our phlebotomists are from East Boston and the surrounding communities.

If your doctor has given you a lab order to have blood drawn, come to the laboratory on the first floor at 10 Gove Street, East Boston. Our phlebotomy hours are: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
