The Member Services Department helps patients select a primary care provider (PCP) in the Adult Medicine Department and the Family Medicine Department. We work with each patient to identify the right PCP match. If you would like to learn more about our physicians, feel free to visit our Find a Provider page. If you are new to the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and don’t yet have a primary care provider, give us a call at 617-568-4600. To find a doctor in the Pediatrics Department for patients under the age of 18, please call Pediatrics directly at 617-568-4477.

Why is it important to choose a doctor? Selecting a primary care provider is the first step toward your healthy future. Seeing a doctor or nurse on a regular basis helps to make sure that you stay as healthy as possible. When you build a relationship with a specific provider, you’ll feel more comfortable discussing any medical issues you may be experiencing. Your provider gets to know you, and will be better able to recognize any changes or issues that may affect your health. Your primary care provider is also responsible for making referrals in the event that you need to see a specialist, such as a dermatologist (skin doctor) or cardiologist (heart doctor). Many of our patients have had the same doctor at the health center for years, and have come to depend on that special relationship.

The Member Services Department can also assist you in obtaining referrals to community resources and making payments on your account. Our staff is knowledgeable about the extensive services provided within the health center, too. We can also help with insurance issues, such as updating a primary care provider with your insurance plan.

The Member Services Department is a place patients and family members can go if they would like to provide any feedback regarding their experience at the health center. All feedback is reviewed and taken seriously. This feedback helps the health center know what we are doing right, and alerts us to areas where we can make improvements. We value your opinion!

The Member Services Department is located at 10 Gove Street, first floor. In addition to English, our staff speaks Spanish and will call Interpreter Services for assistance if you speak another language. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You are welcome to walk in at any time so that we may be of assistance. We look forward to helping you to a healthy future!
